Life can only be understood backwards;
but it must be lived forwards.
Søren Kierkegaard, Danish philosopher, 1813 – 1855.

We, The Sibyls, have known the laughter, love and unbearable loss of a long-lived life. We have endured many hardships, survived shattered dreams and lived through the crushing emotions of personal tragedy. The patina of experience worn into our many stories has graced us with some knowledge and wisdom.
Yet, as Kiekegaard noted, we acquire wisdom looking back, but we always live life at the frontier of the unknown. We will share our stories, knowledge and wisdom to better understand life.
We, The Sibyls embrace the following concepts:
1. Virtu
Virtu (n. English) the love of works of fine art, curios and antiques. That’s us! We’re fine works of art. So we will celebrate the multiplicity of our talents and achievements, follies and foibles, wear-and-tear and triumphs.
2. Oratio
Oratio (n. F. Latin. Speech). We will share our collective wisdom and report back from that frontier of the unknown. How do you manage? What ideas work for you?
3. Garda
Garda (n.F. Latin. Guardianship) This is not about politics. We don’t have time enough left to endlessly debate issues. We must act. How do you support your local neighbourhood, community, the culture, the global society and/or your planet home? Small or large, what contribution do you make?
